DRA BURGUNDY ROSE is by halter champion BURGUNDY SUN, a ¾ brother to halter champion MAJESTIC SUN. He is a product of the renowned Phara Stud breeding program known for its linebreeding to AARAF through LEWISFIELD SUN GOD. Phara horses have superb conformation and athletic ability and are noted for their trot. They are also noted for their color-most being dark chestnut with flaxen manes and tails. BURGUNDY SUN is by halter champion ECLIPSE OF THE SUN, a son of halter champion SUN GOD REFLECTION. BURGUNDY SUN’s dam, ROSE OF FADL, is over 50% Babson Egyptian. Babson Egyptian horses all trace to the 1932 importation of horses from Egypt by master breeder Henry Babson. The stallion of that importation, *FADL, was linebred and inbred to the mares of the importation, which included *BINT BINT SABBAH, *BINT SERRA I, and *BINT SAADA, as well as *FADL’s full sister *MAAROUFA, who had a number of foals by *FADL sons. The Babson Egyptian element was present in the Phara breeding program from the beginning, as the Phara foundation stallion GOLDEN PHARAO’s dam BINT MAAROUFA was Babson Egyptian.

MANAKHA’s sire ABU BEN AHDEM is a paternal brother to JULEP, sire of U.S. National Champion Stallion SYNBAD++ and U.S. National Champion Mare HIGH FASHION++.
