He is the most amazing mover I have ever seen with his incredible reach and overstep, and equal knee and hock action. He has a sweet, loving disposition that is second to none. Gideon’s foals are leggy, big-bodied and correct, with short chisled heads, large poppy eyes, and tippy ears—and WOW can they trot their socks off! Gideon's sire Gold N Ali garnered an impressive 17 Class “A” Championships in the following disciplines: Most Classic, Halter, Western Pleasure, and Trail, and was shown in the ribbons in 4th level Dressage, Reining, and Hunter. Gold N Ali is a sire of National Champions, including Fire An Ice. Gold N Ali’s sire-line goes to the Gainey stallion Ferzon and to the magnificent CMK stallion The Real McCoy. Gold N Ali’s dam is a granddaughter of the Crabbet Stud-bred stallion *Silver Drift, who is a full sibling to *Serafix. Gold N Ali’s tail-female line traces to the Davenport mare *Urfah, famous along miles of the Euphrates and thought to be the best Seglawieh Jedranieh mare in the northern part of the desert. Gideon’s dam DRA Burgundy Rose is a daughter of Phara Farm’s Halter and Most Classic Champion stallion Burgundy Sun. Burgundy Sun is a fifth generation Phara stallion, representing the classic characteristics of the Lewisfield Sun God line in type, movement, and color. DRA Burgundy Rose’s dam BGM Sabrina has six crosses to Abu Farwa mare carrying the best of the Kellogg lines. Gideon’s tail-female line goes to the celebrated mare Rodania, the founder of the “R” line at the Crabbet Arabian stud and one of Crabbet’s very first foundation mares. Wilfrid Blunt himself said that from Rodania, “nearly everything of the best at Crabbet is now descended.” (Archer, Pearson, & Covey. The Crabbet Arabian Stud. Revised Edition, Great Britain, 2002). Rodania was the dam of Rose of Sharon (sired by Hadban), also represented in Gideon’s tail-female line. Rose of Sharon was a golden chestnut with white mane and tail, a color which consistently reappeared in her descendants. When crossed with a brown-chestnut horse the result was a maroon almost black chestnut with flaxen or golden manes and tails. This brilliant color combination is still represented in Rose of Sharon’s modern-day descendants, over 100 years later. Through his sire and dam and their outstanding breeding Gideon has an impressive 457 crosses to the Crabbet foundation sire Mesaoud, 60 crosses to Skowronek, 17 crosses to *Raffles and three crosses to the legendary Lewisfield Sun God.
