1975 Grey Arabian Mare

Sire: THE EGYPTIAN PRINCE (*Morafic x *Bint Mona by Nazeer)

Dam: DRIFRONNA (Snow Drift x Kisronna by Faronek)

Breeder: Robert or Jeanne Middleton

I have long been a fan of the stallion TheEgyptianPrince (*Morafic x *Bint Mona by Nazeer) so when the opportunity arose for me to purchase a daughter, I didn't hesitate! Egyptian Empress was royally bred. Her sire was known as a broodmare sire, his daughters cherished as exceptional producers. Her dam Drifronna was an Aristocrat mare, as was Drifronna's dam Kisronna.

Empress was an aged mare when she came to me, but I had known her for many years prior. In her youth she was fantastically beautiful - she was grey with speckles of chestnut dots covering her body and had the hugest, darkest, most beautiful eyes I had ever seen. She was not a tall mare but was so well proportioned and balanced that it was hard to notice unless she was standing next to another horse. Her head was attractive but not extreme - with the exception of those eyes.... they were truly breathtaking!

She was adored for her incredibly kind and gentle disposition (she could be led around the farm merely by cupping your hand on her jowel, no halter needed). She was solidly built, with excellent legs and feet. I am fortunate to have known and loved her daughter GC Chloe by El Hilal and several of Empress' grandget. Empress produced for us a fine colt by Raffons Topper (Raffon++ x Toppers Belle by Mister Topper), who has matured into a fabulous sport horse / dressage mount. Each of these horses have had the most amazingly beautiful eyes and some of the kindest dispositions I have known.

We lost Empress from complications of Cushings at 28 years of age. She died in my arms, and is buried at the homestead of a friend who owns both a son and granddaughter of Empress.
